Kia Ora! I have been with the Learning Corner ELC for 9 years and the field of Early Childhood for almost 20 years. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in ECE. It is my passion to support and empower young children in their learning journey and value the partnership with their families and whanau. I’m also passionate about literacy development and play based learning. I am a mother to 3 wonderful children who has taught me the importance of providing a nurturing, loving environment and its role in a child’s development. I feel honoured to work alongside the excellent team here at the Learning Corner who has been like a family to me.

Shamsi – Fully Qualified Teacher
Assalamualikum! New Zealand has been my home for 21 years. I have a Bachelors and Masters in Social Science and Education. My passion is to teach young children so I pursued my Diploma in Teaching in Early Childhood when I came here. I love to sing songs with children and believe that through music a child can develop holistically. I am pleased to work at the Learning Corner and I have been working for 12 years and enjoy being a Kaiako in the babies’ room. I believe that it is important to provide a loving, caring and nurturing learning environment starting from the early years to help tamariki develop into their full potential.
Jenny – Teacher, Level 5 ECE
Fakaalofa atu! I have been with the Learning Corner ELC whanau for about 20 years. I am a mother to a beautiful child and my absolute passion is watching children unfold naturally as they grow within their environment and most importantly themselves. I believe that tamariki learn best in an environment that fosters curiosity and confidence to create meaningful relationships with peers, Kaiako and the world around them inspiring them to become lifelong learners.
Rebekah – Centre Cook
Ni hao! I have a diploma in cookery (Level 5) and a food safety certificate. I have worked in cafes, hotels and bakery but being a childcare centre cook is the most that make me happy. I have been preparing meals for our little ones at the Learning Corner for 3 years now and it is my pleasure to work with the wonderful team at the centre. My other passion is teaching Sunday school at our church so I love being around children. The Learning Corner has provided me with the opportunity to do both of the things and I am grateful.
